How do FairPlay live prices move? Roughly the way the match does. A wicket in the powerplay pushes one side out and the other in, and a long stand drags them back again. Because exchange prices come from what other players will back and lay, a tight chase can make the numbers twitch between deliveries. Around big moments, like a review, a run-out appeal or a rain delay, markets tend to pause briefly and then reopen at a new level.

That is the theory. In practice the thing that trips people up is timing: a bet sent on a price that has already moved can be refused or only partly matched, and you see that straight away in your open bets on FairPlay. Nothing is lost when it it happens. Your stake simply stays in the wallet or waits as an unmatched request that you can cancel.

Each in-play market on FairPlay is a row per outcome with two sides. The back side is where you take an outcome to happen; the lay side is where you take it not to happen, which means you are standing in for the other player. Numbers next to each price show how much money is waiting there to be matched. A thin column means a small amount waiting, and a big stake may only partly fill.

• A row that locks or shows a paused label is suspended for a moment, usually around a wicket, a review or a boundary check. Wait for it to reopen.
• Before you confirm, the market shows what the position would win or lose on each outcome, so the exposure is visible up front.

Closing out works on the same screen. If you backed a side at one price and it has since shortened, laying the same side now locks the difference whichever way the match ends; the reverse is also possible when the price drifts. That is a mechanic, not a tip. Whether it makes sense in a given match is your call, and FairPlay does not decide it for you.

When does each market settle? It depends on the slice it covers. A session line is decided as soon as it's stretch of overs is bowled, so money from it can be back in the FairPlay wallet while the innings is still going.
